Sickness insurance is part of the universal social insurance system, which is an expression of the legislator's implementation of the obligations imposed on the said in art. 67 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. Sickness insurance protects against certain social risks. The subject of this study is the risk of work incapacity due to illness. The issue of being subject to sickness insurance, which is the subject of systemic regulation (obligatory and voluntary insurance), is discussed.
